Goals of the Living Lab

The "Industrial Metaverse Reallabor" supports enterprises in advancing their digital transformation. Together, we identify appropriate Industrial Metaverse Use Cases, evaluate their economic purpose and implement them step by step in Exploring Projects and Demonstrators in real environments. Through this we will create hands-on and scalable solutions that make technologies like digital twins, XR and AI usable, lower innovation risks and strengthen Baden-Württemberg's enterprises' competitiveness.

Target Group

The "Industrial Metaverse Reallabor" is aimed at enterprises with headquarters or at least one dependency in Baden-Württemberg - especially producing SMEs as well as industry and logistic enterprises from industries such as mechanical engineering, automotive and industry-related services. Yet, all other types of SMEs should also feel invited to apply for a Quick Check - be it entertainment, tourism, medical and more. Targeted are CEOs as well as responsible personnel for digitalization processes, innovation, product development, production and IT, that are identifying specific Industrial Metaverse Use Cases in their business and want to test and implement them. In addition, the Reallabor is addressing enterprises and creatives from film, gaming and XR who want to participate with their expertise in joint Industrial Metaverse Use Cases.

Apply: From Quick Checks to Demonstrators

Via Quick Checks the "Industrial Metaverse Reallabor" offers a structured, easy-to-access entry point. Quick Checks rapidly evaluate the feasability of concrete ideas.

The Carl Laemmle Institut (CLI) of Filmakademie executes the application for Quick Checks through the CyberLÄND Community.

The Fraunhofer Institutes execute applications on their S-TEC platform.

Exploring Projects follow the Quick Checks in order to develop POCs and prototypical solutions, while subsequent Demonstraters make the successful Use Cases visible and ready-to-experience in the Living Lab. Enterprises gain direct access to the project partners' expertise and profit from strong networks as well as exchange forums and yearly Open Lab Days.

The Carl Laemmle Institute's Quick Checks have no application deadline and can be requested on an ongoing basis.

Both the application process and the selection of participating SMEs are completely free of charge. Participation in a Quick Check does not involve any costs or financial obligations for the companies.
