Project VISTA will develop a platform for the automized creation, administration and deployment of photo-real digital twins of real locations. Through technologies such as photogrammetry, gaussian splatting and generative AI, real environments will be transformed into high quality 3D models efficiently.
The platform will enable access via web, AR and VR interfaces specifically for film, advertisement, architecture and other creative industries - no matter where you are located. Users can plan, scout and collaborate without having previous knowledge in 3D modelling. With Baden-Württemberg's aim of climate neutrality by 2040, maintaining and refurbishing existing building stock is of special significance in Architecture.
GenAI supported tools help with post production through realistic texturing and lighting as well as automated adaptions. This way, digital locations can be implemented flexibly into Renderings and virtual production. The platform will create a sustainable digital value chain in Baden-Württemberg and reinforce competetiveness through innovative, future-proof and sustainable workflows.
Project VISTA is a joint project by the Carl Laemmle Institut, RECOM Film (project lead) and lohrmannarchitekten, as well as Wirtschaftsregion Stuttgart (WRS) in the role of associated partner. The project is funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor, and Tourism of Baden-Württemberg.
